Upon graduation from FSU in 2009, Leatherwood went on to work as the executive assistant for industry legend Paul Cohen at Red Hills Releasing, where he participated in the marketing and distribution strategies for indie classics such as The Cove, 2010 Academy Award Winner for Best Documentary Feature, and Blue Valentine (Derek Cianfrance). After Dolphin Tale 2, Leatherwood parted ways with Los Angeles and moved back to Florida where he landed in Orlando working as a digital media producer for Falcon’s Treehouse. It was here where Leatherwood worked with entertainment giants such as Marvel and Cartoon Network and NASA, to produce live action and 3D digital media content for themed attractions for The Incredible Hulk, The Avengers: Battle of Ultron, Adventure Time, and Ben 10 and the Kennedy Space Center. From Falcon’s Treehouse, he moved on to become a 2D Animation Producer at Echo Bridge Pictures in St. Petersburg, Florida where he managed a team of brilliant artists and produced animation for Animation Domination Hi-Def (ADHD) on Fox for shows such as Axe Cop and Major Lazer, the animated series. On behalf of Lightning Capital Entertainment, Leatherwood is committed to creating quality content and promoting the growth of a vibrant and healthy film industry in Florida as an East Coast alternative to the toxic culture of the failing industry in Hollywood. |
